What is the point in whistleblowing if the regulators don’t take any action? I  received this response from the Solicitors Regulation Authority on September 17 – 13 months after my original complaint to them of illegal practice by Restons and Duncan Hamilton:

I believe any intelligent person reading my website can see that there is considerable evidence of wrongdoing by the bank and solicitors. Either the SRA simply accepted an assurance from Restons that they were not acting illegally or Restons created a fake contract. The SRA made no mention of any investigation against Duncan Hamilton, but he has now left HSBC and is working as a consultant at Restons.

The SRA are very wrong if they think their handling of the matter is an end to it. The allegations are now in the hands of the police.
