My complaint

When it became clear to me that my employers were not going to deal with my grievances about the contract and my employment and after they had accused me of blackmailing them with threatening a referral to the Law Society,  I decided to report them – because they refused to address my concerns and I wanted to eliminate the accusation of blackmail. I knew I would lose my job and possibly my house. The report was not made from malice but was a genuine request for clarity on a matter in dispute between us.This is my letter:

The first response I received from the Law Society informed me that they couldn’t deal with the complaint because a senior partner at the firm was a member of the Council of the Law Society. The complaint was therefore referred to outside solicitors to investigate.

At no time in the 11 months it took them to “investigate” my complaint did they ask me for any further information.
