Andrew Cox, partner at Weightmans that called me Mr Ethical
I worked at Weightmans solicitors as head of debt recovery. I was basically told to do illegal work for HSBC or be sacked. They were illegally adding 16.4% to debts immediately they were instructed to cover their fees. Often as much as £6,000. I reported them to the Law Society so they sacked me anyway.
We went to mediation, they paid me large sum of money and I signed a Compromise Agreement, with a gagging clause. I decided to breach this when I found out Weightmans were still adding the charges after the SRA adjudication.
The Law Society/Solicitors Regulation Authority upheld, my complaint that the charges were illegal but took no action.
See here for details of the corrupt appointment of an HSBC director to head the BBC, here for my dealings with the media and here for those who have directly benefited from the cover-ups.
