The City of London Police Economic Crime Unit refused to take any action on the fraud. The Detective Chief Inspector I dealt with said he knew people in the Solicitors Regulation Authority and Financial Conduct Authority and said he would “speak to them”. He seemed to take the view that since they didn’t take any action, he didn’t need to either, despite my telling him they had both covered it up.
